Hi, I'm Danial.
I'm a mechanic by trade, a fixer by nature, and based in Great Dunmow. HiDan is built on a simple idea: be the kind of neighbour you can ring up when something — anything — needs sorting.
Cars are where I trained and where I spend most of my time. I have a properly-equipped workshop and the kit to come to you for mobile jobs. But fixing things is fixing things — over the years I've ended up sorting plumbing, appliances, electrics and all the little house jobs that people don't know who to call for. So now I do those too.
HiDan exists because I noticed how often people had two problems at once — the car making a noise and a leaking tap — and ended up phoning three different tradesmen. One call should be enough.
Where it started
Learned with my hands, not a textbook.
I picked up most of what I know by doing — alongside older mechanics who'd been at it for decades, on cars that didn't have computers to tell you what was wrong. That's why I'm comfortable on an older engine and on a modern one, and why I'd rather diagnose a problem properly than just throw parts at it.
The same approach goes for everything else I do around the house. Take the time to look at it, fix it once, and leave it tidier than you found it.

Great Dunmow & the surrounding villages.
I cover roughly a 40-mile radius — Bishop's Stortford, Stansted, Chelmsford, Braintree, Saffron Walden and all the villages in between.
